Abstract
The article considers the idea and subject of the novel by John Buchen «Greenmantle» based on the information available to him as a Military Propaganda Bureau and the British Intelligence Service offi cer. A special emphasis is put on the description of the Young-Turk regime, which later got curious refl ections in the historiography due to some mistakes of the Intelligence Service.
